Da Urlee Byrd, aka Jondae Diori Scot, is a young, energetic entrepreneur and founder of Da Urlee Byrd Creations based in Chicago, IL. Her self made businesses include Jondae's Sweet Potato Cheesecake, over 8 unique varieties of homemade cheesecake, Byrd Feathas, crocheted hats, scarves, and crafts, and her NO HOLDS BARRED shock blog. Additionally, she has a daily text service, "Daily Wurd from Da Urlee Byrd,"of motivational messages, job openings, and news highlights being sent to over 75 subscribers nationwide.
She attended Fisk University for business management and has traveled to parts of Africa,Mexico, and the Bahamas. Her future projects include DUBLand, a website and networking project geared to bring young business-minded people and ideas together through the arts,cooking,and technology.
Currently, she has just joined the project team at Kokrobitey Institute, a Chicago based program that sends high school and college students to Ghana, West Africa where they can learn and absorb TRUE history through cultural exchange. Her ultimate goal is to increase Chicago's awareness of their inner city youths' needs by using creative venues such as martial arts, culunary arts, and construction. Her goal?
