King B.
The artist currently known as King B. hails from the south side of Chicago. He is an actor, writer, producer of film, TV, music and much, much more.
In 1995, while pursuing a singing career he got the opportunity to act in his first movie. This instantly had him working alongside the likes of Bernie Mac, LisaRaye and Mel Jackson.
Smitten by his new found love, film, he strayed from music and focused more on his acting career. Over his first two years he worked on six films including the big budget films like “My Best Friend’s Wedding”.
Desiring more artistic expressing he wrote and created a television show called “King B.’s Raw Fusion” It was a lifestyle magazine that focused on fashion, sports, entertainment, etc.. Guests of the show included Alicia Keys, Meagan Good, Kim Fields and more! The show also included a segmented soap opera called Temptations. The show was so successful that it went from being aired on a cable access channel in Chicago to PBS (WTTW) in just three years.
After four years in TV, the King longed to return to his love, film. In 2004 he starred in the first movie that he also wrote and directed. “Intimate Friends” also stars Prototype (VH1) and radio legend Herb Kent. His second movie in which he starred, wrote and directed was “The Penis Dialogues” a comedic study of heterosexual relationships from the male perspective. It stars Tiffany J. Curtis, (The Awakening), B*Cole (Def Comedy Jam), Lean Rogers (Laffapolooza) and also King B. His next huge effort would be a Chicago mafia film called “ROOST”. Also written and directed by King B., “ROOST” stars Toya Turner, Tone and Shag (The Parkers), Damn Fool (Bad Boys of Comedy) and of course King B.
Over the years you can also find him in other movies as just an actor as well as other projects where he was the director but didn’t appear in them such as “The Set Up” a musical starring the mega rap group Crucial Conflict. He also did a stint as a columnist at the Midwest’s largest trade magazine for Film and TV, Screen Magazine.
Now, focused on a new love, photography, (modelmayhem.com/kingbphotographicart) and the release of his new movie “ROOST 2.5” starring Shawn Morgan (TV One), Malik Yusef, Derek Dow (Ford), Leon Rogers, Toya Turner and the one and only King B, he is poised to take Hollywood by storm!
